N ike’s Jordan Brand has taken the world of sneakers by storm, and arguably made it what it is today. Can you imagine the sneaker industry without Jordan? No, neither can we. Regardless of whether your favourite silhouette is an AJ1 or J4, the Jordan Brand is super reliable, super high heat, and super stylish. Beginning their journey with controversy (you can learn more about this here) definitely helped Air Jordan in creating the brand it is today, and now sneakerheads can’t get enough!

The Jordan 1 in particular, which now comes in Mid and low-top silhouettes as well as the OG High, is popular with both sneakerheads and general consumers, making it almost impossible to leave the house and not see someone rocking a pair. Although there is a certain snobbery around Mids, Nike has really amped up their game and we’ve seen a rapid influx of colourways that prove to those who were at first sceptical that Mids are a strong contender in the sneaker-sphere hall of fame. It’s said that Melody Ehsani’s Air Jordan 1 Mid “Fearless” is the most popular Mid of all time, closely followed by the AJ1 Mid “Milan”, and a representative from StockX even said that “Melody can be credited with sparking the revival of Jordan 1 Mid, which has seen explosive growth and become a mainstay style”.

Following on in popularity from the Air Jordan 1, is the Jordan 4. Having qualified as the main competitor to the almighty Jordan 1 silhouette (Jordan 4s or Jordan 1s?), the Jordan 4 is a chunky-but-funky sneaker that is making its way into the shoedrobes of those who might not have been bothered before, but are definitely bothered now. Similar to the Jordan 1, the 4 was not without controversy. When released in 1989, it was thought that Tinker Hatfield couldn’t possibly top what he’d achieved with the Air Jordan 3, but he managed it.

The Air Jordan 3 is set to be the sneaker of 2022, so keep your eyes peeled and make sure to bookmark these styling tips for when you’re rocking your 3s. The first Jordan to be designed by Hatfield (Peter Moore covered the AJ1 and AJ2), the Jordan 3 saved Michael Jordan’s relationship with the Swoosh Brand. It’s especially poignant that most 3s have stayed loyal to the original design, the “Cement” colourways are as popular as ever, and we still find a lot of elephant print appearing on the majority of AJ3 iterations. Ironically, we’ve styled the A Ma Maniere x Air Jordan 3 “Violet Ore”, which doesn’t include these features, however it is the women’s release of the year, so it seemed only apt.

Without further ado, keep scrolling to see our advice on how to style women's Jordans and our outfit ideas for girls. We’ve put together a range of Jordan outfits to style with your Air Jordan 1s, AJ3s or J4s, but these can be easily swapped and changed. There’s no exact answer as to how you should be wearing your Air Jordans, however we like to keep it street style and casual, as you’ll soon see. You’ll notice that we’ve used a lot of neutral hues for each of the silhouettes, and although this is far from being a rule, we feel it allows the basketball shoes to stand loud and proud as the main event, rather than being an added extra.

Taking two contrasting colourways, the Jordan 1 "Seafoam" and Jordan 1 "Shattered Backboard", we’ve created interchangeable ‘fits that work with either sneaker, proving that neutrals are a great way to build up your wardrobe with pieces you can wear over and over again and remain in fashion over time.

One of our favourite colourways of all time, Jez styles her vibrant Jordan 1s with a neutral ‘fit that takes on a street-smart approach. Pairing the black cargos with a matching Fear of God ESSENTIALS hoodie and a quilted Carhartt jacket, this outfit is perfect for the winter season thanks to all the layers. Finished up with a pair of gold hoops and a black baseball cap, this stealthy styling is the ideal example of having pieces in your wardrobe that can be worn with a range of items and sneakers, rather than being limited to one combination of clothes. The dark colours allow for the orange-and-black Jordans to shine, and makes what could be a difficult colour to style look insanely good.

One of the most popular releases of the year, The Sole Supplier's Content & Social Media Manager styles her sage-green Seafoams with another neutral ‘fit that takes a mixture of dark and light hues to create the perfect contrast of tones. Kelly decided to tie her Jordan 1 "Seafoam" up with a pair of “Sail” laces, but thanks to the black-and-cream colours, any laces will look inevitably great. Up top, we have a cropped, high neck top and a black The North Face Nupste puffer, whilst below Kelly decided on baggy trousers and a black belt.

Whether you’re wearing high-top Jordan 1s or something else, we like to pair these sleek sneakers with baggy trousers rather than skinny jeans.

Thanks to the padding, although the Jordan 3 doesn’t sit particularly high on the ankle, the silhouette is quite chunky, so it makes sense to pair them with another outfit that is oversized or baggy. If you’re styling 3s with elephant print, maybe you’d like to opt for some grey tones in your outfit? Or if there is one stand out colour, like the “Pine Green” on the Jordan 3 “Pine Green”, you could pair your accessories in with this colour to complete the look and give it a rounded-off look.

As previously mentioned, we believe that the Jordan 3 x AMM “Violet Ore” was THE women’s release of 2021. The neutral hues on this pair are crying out for a corresponding ‘fit. Kelly pairs her AMMs with baggy, blue boyfriend jeans that are slightly tighter around the ankle, as this allows for the AJ3s to be shown off in all their glory. Up top, she’s opted for a creamy cord Palace jacket to match the sneakers (that has blue detailing to correspond to the jeans) and a simple white tank.

Coming with a range of signature details, such as the triangular TPU panels and mesh detailing across the upper, you’re going to want to show off your Jordan 4s as much as possible to allow people to admire the attention to detail that comes with these sneakers.

One of the most sought-after women’s releases of all time, the Off-White x Air Jordan 4 “Sail” needs no fancy outfit. Let your AJ4s do the talking. Once again taking on earthy hues, Jez pairs her collaborative pair of Air Jordan 4s with a pair of cord joggers in a “Stone” colour and matches this to a camo Carhartt jacket up top. As you can see, we’ve once again paired this chunky silhouette with baggy pieces, although if you want to show off your sneakers even more, you could opt for something that cuts a little higher up the ankle so passers-by can get the best view.

TSS top tip: jewellery is your best friend. You can easily take your Jordan outfit from 0 to 100 by adding some hoops and necklaces like Jez has here.

There you have it, an array of women's Jordan outfits to provide you with a little bit of inspiration when you’re struggling to find the perfect ‘fit to match your sneakers. It’s no secret that us sneakerheads start with our kicks and then decide on an outfit, so sometimes you’re going to have to be creative if you are desperate to wear your favourite pair of Js that day.

Overall, we think that Jordans are best suited to oversized outfits, but make sure that there is some contrast. If you’re wearing cargo pants or streetwear-like jeans (think straight leg over slim jeans), make sure to pair these with a tight t-shirt or a fitted jacket. Straight jeans work particularly well with Jordan 1s thanks to their sleek and streamlined design, so why not wear your pair of Jordans with these? If you want to update your wardrobe and are struggling to know where to look, then try Carhartt, Dickies, Fear of God ESSENTIALS, The North Face and Stüssy as a starting point. If in doubt, casual outfits styled with sweatpants also work well, especially when they're cuffed at the ankle, as this can show off your Nike Air Jordan sneakers.

So whether you're wearing your UNCs or Chicagos, there's an outfit out there to suit every sneaker.
