Westport resident and fashion designer Christian Siriano teased on Instagram Wednesday that he will be opening a new store in Westport called “The Collective West.”

In the post, he wrote, “New store in Westport Connecticut coming soon!!! This space is really so magical and I can’t wait for you all to come shop and enjoy it! XxCS.” In the video, Siriano said that he can’t tell people much, but things are coming together very soon, as he showed the background full of clothing and mannequins.

Siriano is no stranger to the Westport community; he moved there from Danbury in 2020 and has been seen dining around the area. He has a store in New York City “The Curated NYC,” a multi-brand boutique that offers luxury clothing, ready-to-wear, jewelry, bags, art pieces, fragrances and candles, vintage decor and other accessories.

The designer recently designed three dresses for the Gilded Age-themed Met Gala in May. The attendees were encouraged to approach late 19th-century clothing through a modern lens. According to the fashion designer’s Instagram, singer Normani, designer and influencer Alexa Chung and tennis player Caroline Wozniacki wore his designs.

In early March, Siriano announced on Instagram that he was auctioning off a two-toned tulle dress inspired by the Ukrainian flag. The dress had blue and yellow fabric draped in a crisscross pattern over the mannequin’s bust and flows into a skirt, separating into bright yellow on the right and royal blue on the left. The dress also featured a blue and yellow ruffle detail over the right shoulder.

He made headlines back in April 2020 during the pandemic for pivoting his business to face mask production in response to the mask shortage in New York City; he was awarded state funding to continue the endeavor.
