With everything going on in the world, it seems like a particularly good time to assess how to dress better- especially as we approach the season of rain. There are many ways to look polished on a rainy day, and being underdressed is one of the least desirable. The way you dress for the rain is a matter of interest to yourself and those around you.

Trench coats were designed during World War 1 as a solution to (you guessed it) bad weather on the battlefields. Throughout the years, the trench became an all time favorite of businessmen and poets. It quickly becomes clear how Hollywood has celebrated the trench throughout the years.

Despite all this, I am confident enough to say that yes, you need rainwear, and should be comfortable wearing it, even if you only wear it while it’s raining. How you interpret new menswear rules describes the contour of your personality. I truly feel that this is a moment in time when we can recognize that some decency in mens public sphere needs to be restored. That’s one reason we look for guidelines in rainwear.
